August watching Dad ride off too school on his bike. It's wonderfully cool this morning and feels so much like autumn. Still no pecans on the trees...I don't know if we'll get any this year.
We made Spicy Chicken Tacos and a pot of Drunken Beans last night (a recipe from Heirloom Beans, a new cookbook co-authored by my friend Vanessa Barrington). Sooooo good... We were slow cooking all day and the smells were wonderful. Looking forward to leftovers tonight.

Hi August, Seeing these photos reminded Grams of how your Daddy used to watch out the window when Gramps left for work and how excited he'd be to see him again at the end of the day! That was your Grandpa's favorite time of the day too he always said--getting back home to his little man!!! :-)
