Bye bye college fund....


Today we got (especially) shanked by our own government. We mailed off their grubby money and hope they spend in wisely this year. We don't expect miracles, but one can hope. Since August was born in 2008 instead of 2007 for the tax write off, he at least wanted to pop the check in the mail on our behalf. It was a beautiful day here in Austin, mid-seventies, sunny and breezy so we decided to take a nice long walk to the post office. The flowers are blooming and the trees are greening; you would never know it was tax day.

After the mail was thrown into the slot we decided to head on down to Mother's for a vegetarian luncheon. We thought the name was fitting and had quite a laugh. I settled on the artichoke enchiladas with brown rice and black beans and Fuzzby had four ounces of premium name-brand formula, warmed to perfection. We sat outside next to their flower boxes and just admired the day as we drank our teas. If you gotta learn about taxes, it's best done with your mommy over a nice lunch on a pretty day.
