We started off our Father's Day weekend with Kiddie Acres this morning, a teeny tiny little amusement park perfect for the preschool set, with nothing but old kiddie rides. I can't even tell you how much we all loved it. No razzle-dazzle, no merchandise, just fun, plain and simple. The park was small enough so that we could do all the rides in a reasonable amount of time and avoid meltdowns and the weather this morning was warm but not too hot. August can't stop talking about it. For me, seeing those boats in the big tub go round and round was worth the price of admission. So many memories! August's favorite part of the whole experience was giving the little yellow tickets to the ride attendants and steering the tiny cars (he went on those twice). And as you'll see in the pictures, the few of him grimacing, he got his first sno-cone brain freeze.
